Darlington County Water & Sewer Authority Board of Directors meets at 5 p.m. in the Conference Room at 1701 Harry Byrd Hwy., Darlington, on the following dates: Oct. 15, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17.

Darlington County Council members Bobby Kilgo and Joyce Thomas will hold a Town Hall at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Election Commission Annex, 135 Cashua St., to discuss the courthouse, its condition, and the referendum.

The Housing Authority of Darlington will close the waiting list for all Public Housing applications at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18. No applications will be accepted after this date until further notice. The Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list remains closed at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Darlington County Physically Handicapped Society will hold a Chicken Bog Benefit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 19 at 543 Peach St., Darlington. Dine in or carry out $7 per plate. The City of Darlington Beautification Board and the Darlington Garden Club will hold Clean Up Darlington Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 20. Meet at the Chamber office, 38 Public Square, for tools, information, refreshments, and restrooms. Submit project ideas to darlingtonplanner@gmail.com. Volunteers needed! The Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault will hold a walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, on the Public Square.
