The City of Darlington Grab A Bag SC Litter Collection will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, November 13, beginning at the City Administration Building, 410 Pearl Street. Trash bags, grabbers, and safety vests will be provided. Water and light refreshments available for volunteers. Participants can sign up for Grab A Bag SC in their own community by visiting PalmettoPride's event page at www.palmettopride.org. After you've picked up your bag, challenge three friends to do the same. Just tag them on your favorite social media platform using #GrabABagSC. Additionally, that Saturday, staff will distribute tarps in an effort to combat litter from unsecured loads, some of the main sources of litter contributing to more than 20 percent of roadside debris. According to state law, no vehicle shall be driven on any public highway unless it is loaded or covered to prevent its load from dropping, escaping, or shifting.
