Darlington Kiwanis Club Centennial Celebration: The Darlington Kiwanis Club, one of the oldest in the Pee Dee, will celebrate 100 years of service to the community during the club's meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at Darlington Country Club, 125 Country Club Road, Darlington. Speaker will be Chief Judge James E. Lockemy, Chief Judge for the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He is an active Kiwanian having served as the local president and lieutenant governor. Chief Judge Lockemy is completing his third year as an Adjunct Professor in Legal History at the University of South Carolina Law School. In 2012, Judge Lockemy received his Master's Degree in History from The Citadel and currently is working to complete his PH. D. in History from the University of South Carolina. Judge Lockemy has two sons, Jamie and Will, and eleven grandchildren.

Darlington Raceway will host the third annual Terrence Carraway Memorial 5K presented by Brown's RV Superstore at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2. There will also be a one-mile Kids Run as part of the event. Runners can register online at darlingtonraceway.com/memorial5k. Early bird registration is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the Kids Run through August 1. After that date, registration will be $30 for the 5K and $20 for the Kids Run. All race participants will receive a t-shirt and medal. The race will be run in partnership with Simply Timing to benefit the Terrence F. Carraway Foundation. For fans who may not be able to make it to Darlington, they will be able to participate with a virtual 5K run. Our partner at Simply Timing will offer a virtual course option, and participants will receive a medal for completion. DHEC-Vaccine

DHEC Careline 855-472-3432: Get answers to common questions about the Corona Virus from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

McLeod Health in Florence will now begin administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to individuals 12 years of age and older. Children 12 to 15 years of age will require parental consent. McLeod employees and their family members age 12 and older can receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at the McLeod Support Services Center located at 2210 Enterprise Drive, Florence. This Walk-In Vaccine Clinic at Enterprise Drive is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. No Appointment Required. Additionally, McLeod Health encourages individuals - and all McLeod Employees, who have not yet been vaccinated for COVID-19 to consider getting the vaccine. As an encouragement for your investment in guarding your health, McLeod employees vaccinated through our McLeod Employee Health program will receive $50.

The Covid-19 Vaccine hotline for the public to schedule vaccine appointments is 843-876-7227. Darlington City Hall has reopened to the public at a limited capacity. Hours of operation remain 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Individuals may only enter through the front door of City Hall, 400 Pearl St.
  • Individuals must wear a mask.
  • Individuals must maintain social distancing of six (6) feet from others.
  • A maximum of three (3) people will be allowed in the reception area at any one time. Others must wait outside.
  • Restrooms will not be open to the public.
